AI generative art has revolutionized the artistic landscape, blending artificial intelligence with creativity to produce remarkable and unique pieces of artwork. This cutting-edge field has gained immense popularity due to its ability to create art that was once thought to be solely within the realm of human imagination. But in the last week, we have seen a new player has entered the market.
Stable Diffusion DALL-E and Midjourney: Consistent Improvement
Stable Diffusion DALL-E and Midjourney have been at the forefront of AI generative art for quite some time now, often tussling for the top spot of the best platform to use. For quite some time Midjourney had been the top choice for people, including myself, with spectacular results considering the entire team is only about a dozen people. These advanced AI models have continuously pushed the boundaries of what is possible in generative art. With their sophisticated algorithms and neural networks, they can generate stunning and realistic artwork that captivates both artists and art enthusiasts.
The success of Stable Diffusion, DALL-E and Midjourney lies in their ability to learn from vast datasets, allowing them to understand complex patterns, textures, and styles. As a result, they can create intricate and visually appealing compositions, imitating various artistic styles with remarkable precision. If you haven’t already, it’s worth investing your time into these tools to at least get an understanding of what they are capable of.
These 3 companies are all private companies so you can’t get in on the action if you want to invest your money but now a sleeping giant has awoken.
Adobe’s Impressive Release: Extremally Well-Polished Generative Fill
This week, Adobe has unveiled an awe-inspiring addition to the world of AI generative art. Their latest release features an incredibly well-polished generative fill that takes image manipulation to new heights. One of the standout features is the ability to remove objects from images seamlessly. This functionality opens up a world of possibilities for photographers, graphic designers, and content creators who need to eliminate unwanted elements from their visuals.
Additionally, Adobe’s generative fill allows users to extend the borders of images effortlessly. This feature is particularly beneficial for photographers who often face challenges when framing their shots. With generative fill, they can expand the borders of their images without compromising the composition, resulting in stunning panoramic views and wider perspectives.
The impressive results generated by Adobe’s generative fill feature demonstrate the power and potential of AI in the creative process. Investing in Adobe’s AI-driven solutions presents a unique opportunity to tap into a widely recognized and established brand that continues to innovate and redefine the creative industry.
Investment Potential in AI Generative Art
As more artists, designers, and businesses recognize the value and impact of AI in the creative process, the market demand for the technology is only going to increase. While Stable Diffusion, DALL-E and Midjourney are all privately owned companies that leaves Adobe out in the public realm. In the last week Adobe’s stock has gone up 12% and I think it is just scratching the surface.
As a company Adobe offers a lot of advanced software solutions and the ability to use AI in each of their software programs is going to save people massively on the medial tasks like editing photos, videos & audio. But what I’m truly bullish on is the fact that all the AI features are not only features that people are willing to pay a subscription for but it is an online-only feature.
In the past, software like Photoshop has been heavily pirated and often people stick with the older versions because the incremental updates haven’t been worth the upgrade cost or hassle. Now with AI integrating game-changing features, AI is the unprecedented reason to upgrade your old version of Photoshop. Cleverly in order to use this feature you have to have a subscription because the logic is done on the cloud so people who currently pirate Photoshop or use an older version are going to have the dilemma of not having access to a feature that can turn a 30minute job into a 30second job.
Last year it was announced that Adobe had agreed to buy Figma for $20b and I suspect the acquisition train is going to continue with another multi-billion dollar acquisition of one of these 3 generative AI platforms. Midjerney is the logical choice if they can afford it but most of these acquisitions happen with stock options rather than just cash. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Adobe stock price doubles in price in less than 6 months. In 2 week’s time, Adobe will have its Q2 FY2023 earnings call and I’m putting my money on a repeat of Nvidia's earnings call where it shot up about 30% overnight adding about $300b to the valuation. Not financial advice but my spare money is in Adobe for the next few months.
